Omelette you relax for a bit

It’s been a hectic couple of days around here, and since things come in threes, (allegedly) we can all breathe a sigh of relief until the next trifecta of life events come along.

#1 – I had to take Jules to the hospital yesterday with a wheeze and a cough that would have been given the all-clear at the GP, but because of COVID, they won’t see anyone with respiratory symptoms, so off to the hospital we trotted. I was so relieved that he was fine (he can be very deceptive with his illness/wellness) and Dad picked us up just as the afternoon storm was rolling in and school was being let out. Thankfully by some miracle we didn’t get caught in any of it and got home before it all hit.

#2 – I’ll come back to that soon…..

#3 – I had to go to the dentist today and had a few old fillings replaced. It was zero fun. I think it’s the biggest dental job I’ve ever had done and I was a little emotional from the morning’s escapades (you’ll see why soon) so after the needles went in I was trying to keep it together….. and just couldn’t. I had a big old blubbery cry. They were so kind and lovely and I pulled it together in time for the next bloody needle. It was over an hour of work and I still feel exhausted from it.

Which brings us back to #2. They say a picture says a thousand words. Well, this morning the shower door was in much more than a thousand glass pieces….

Yes, that is glass in the bottom of my shower. The whole pivoting glass door met the force of Darby and Chance. Again, thankfully, by some miracle, no one was hurt. Darby had glass all over him and through his hair, but if he had actually fallen into the shower when it happened, we would have been back up at the hospital for sure.

From what I can gather, Darby was leaning with his back up against the door near the pivot point, and Chance stood in front of him and leaned on him as well. It was enough pressure for the whole thing to basically explode. The sound was horrendous and went for seconds as the whole thing fell apart. I knew what it was as soon as I heard it. I’ve never liked that door – it has always made me nervous, with my kids being so rambunctious and excitable. They got the biggest fright.

After getting them out of physical danger, picking glass out of Darby’s hair while he was in my shower, and gently trying to get it all off his skin without too many cuts and scratches, I locked the bathroom door and haven’t looked at it since (see #3).

And promptly made myself a friggin’ delicious omelette.

Half for now, half for tomorrow!

I needed a good breakfast for my boxing session with Beth this morning. Apparently I was punching quite hard today! Can’t imagine why! šŸ™‚

    1. Ha ha. I already cleaned it up. I’m going to look at replacing it with a stacker sliding door. I am DONE with huge panes of glass in my house!!!! šŸ™‚
