Oh yeah, that’s right, I have a blog! It has been over four months since my last post, unless you count all the posts I have written in my head and all the posts I have intended to publish! But I guess you can’t count those, so I’m here now, sitting at a table at Ramp Attak in Ipswich, watching Chance and two of his mates skateboard and scooter around a pretty gnarly set of ramps (yeah I’m hip and jiggy with it) and am taking the opportunity to smash out some blog posts.
So let’s start with Pizzeys! It was our second trip there for the year, and as always, it was a wonderful mix of great company, fun fishing, time at the sandbar, and lots of downtime with the kids.

The only things missing this year were mud crabs (so sad!) and roasting marshmallows on the fire, due to a total fire ban in the area at the time.

We did have some pretty wild weather, with 30mm falling in a couple of hours one afternoon, and a spectacular sunset that followed! We were also lucky enough to have Marty and Thomas with us, as well as our dear friends Luke and Henna, and their two boys come up for the first time ever, and Maz and Heath and the kids came up for a day.

And Julius had quite an exciting trip out in the boat with Chance and Grumpy, hooking a huge cat fish on his very own rod! He reeled it all the way up to the boat, and Grumpy got a good look at it before it snapped Julius’ rod! It was a big one that got away for sure. Not that we would have kept it, but it made a good story! Luke’s son caught an absolute beauty off the sandbar that we all enjoyed a taste of for dinner that night, and Chance caught a lovely flathead as well.

We all had a fantastic time and we are so grateful to have this place to share with family and friends.
