On the Tuesday, we all headed to the Borenore Caves just outside of Orange for a morning of exploring. It was cold but we kept warm with all the walking and scrambling and caving!

There were so many little areas to go and discover, and the kids had a great time exploring.

It was such a great way to spend the morning. We headed home for some lunch, and while Marty and Felix stayed back to put together a trampoline (which was quite the challenge apparently!) Erica, her mum and I took the eight kids to the awesome playground next to the Botanic Gardens we went to last time we visited. We were the only ones there – partly because it wasn’t school holidays for NSW yet, and partly because it was FREEZING!! After 45 minutes, the wind had picked up, it was 5 degrees but felt like -2, so we headed home to warm up!

We had another easy relaxed afternoon, then I took another meal over to share which was again, so lovely. The main aim of this trip was really just to spend time with these guys, and not worry too much about rushing around trying to do too much.
The next day, Wednesday, was our last full day there. Quinn took the girls to school again, Felix took Thomas and Julius for a hair cut (another mullet for Julius, a sensible haircut for Thomas 🙂 ) while Marty and I took Darby and Chance to a lake for some fishing and a walk.

(no luck); more hangs with the girls
We took the kids to the movies after lunch as the weather was pretty miserable, then we started the fun task of packing up our metric tonne of crap for departure the next day. We headed out for dinner that night to the local RSL which was pretty good, then had a bit more time together before heading back to the very warm and cosy house for some games and hot chocolate.

Next blog post – onto Sydney!
